Curious About What Recreational Programs Service Entails?
Social and emotional health are just as critical as the physical needs of our clients. Getting older, recovering from illness or injury, or having a disability doesn’t mean that you can’t enjoy the activities that bring your life joy and meaning. In fact, we believe that receiving home care is the perfect time to reinvigorate your spirit with your favorite activities to jumpstart the physical and emotional healing process.
Recreation and engagement visits use leisure activities to promote recovery from illness, injury, or disability, or to bring happiness to the day of someone who would benefit from a positive and enjoyable social interaction. Leisure activities might include art, dance, music, exercise, creative writing, and games of all types.
What Are Recreational Programs?
True Care's Recreational and Engagement Program provides key socialization, enjoyment, and mental stimulation that is so important to our clients’ overall well-being. The program is designed to assess and address our client’s unique strengths, interests, desires, and goals. We aim to help them improve or maintain their physical, cognitive, social, emotional, and spiritual functioning to be able to participate in their lives more robustly.
At True Care, we uphold the idea that every individual is unique, and that it may be necessary to try different plans and implementations as client needs change. No matter the stage, we’ll be there every step of the way to help our clients reach their goals.
What Are Engagement Classes?
Engagement isn’t just about having a good time. Our Recreation Therapists can give progress reports and help monitor improvements in social, emotional, and cognitive function over time. This can really help to put the process of healing in context. After all, life is about enjoying the things we love, with the people we care about. Let Recreational Therapy infuse you or your loved one’s life with extra joy.
Some examples of Engagement classes include:
Group arts and crafts classes
Music therapy
Community outings
And more, depending on the interests and strengths of the client
Our Recreation Therapists bring warmth and positivity everywhere they go. Whether one-on-one or in a group setting, they work to bring engaging, motivating, and enriching activity into the lives of our clients.
Our Process
Our specialized team use a standard of care called the APIED process to create individual treatment plans for all clients:
Assessment
Engagement Therapists (ETs) observe and interview the client to assess a client’s strengths and limitations of a person’s physical, cognitive, emotional, social, behavioral, and leisure capabilities.
Planning
Reflect and review the assessment needs to develop and implement an individual or intervention plan based off of the identified goals and objectives from the assessment.
Implementation
Implementing the individualized treatment or intervention plan.
Evaluation
Evaluating a person's response to the individualized treatment or intervention plan and modifying the plan when appropriate.
Documentation
Documenting a person's response to the individualized treatment or intervention plan, including documenting the overall outcome of the person's treatment.
