    Does my insurance cover medical escort?

    If you are receiving services through your insurance and your medical escort needs take place during your approved hours of service, then the medical escort is covered in the same way that your typical HHA hours are covered. If you need additional hours due to the escort needed taking place outside of your typical covered hours you can request additional hours for that situation from the insurance company or the additional hours can be paid privately/out of pocket.

    Why would I need a medical escort?

    If you are having a “same day” procedure, such as a colonoscopy or cataract surgery, you will need someone to pick you up after the procedure and take you home. You may need some additional assistance when you return home. The medical escort can help with getting you to your procedure on time, waiting until you are finished and getting you home safely.

    Does medical escort services include transportation?

    If you need assistance with arranging transportation, that can be arranged in addition to the medical escort caregiver.
