What is the CDPAP Program?

The Consumer Directed Personal Assistance Program (CDPAP) is a Medicaid program in the state of New York that allows chronically ill or physically disabled individuals to receive home care services. What sets CDPAP apart from traditional home care services is that it gives the consumer more control and flexibility in managing their own care.

What costs are covered?

The Consumer Directed Personal Assistance Program (CDPAP) covers several costs related to the care of the individual enrolled in the program. Since CDPAP is a Medicaid-funded program, the costs covered by Medicaid include.

Can I hire parent or grandparent?

Under the CDPAP program, you are not allowed to hire a parent or a grandparent if they are the legal guardian of the consumer. However, if they are not the legal guardian, they can be hired as personal assistants.
